Abstract
This study aims to examine the relationship between housing poverty and depression among young adults and whether satisfaction with social relationships moderates the relationship between the two variables. This study utilized the 16th data of the Korea Welfare Panel collected in 2021. Multiple regression analysis and hierarchical regression analysis were conducted for 1,901 young adults aged 19 to 34 in 2021. As a result, first, when controlling for sociodemographic variables, housing poverty had a positive relationship with depression. Second, the social relationship satisfaction of young adults moderated the relationship between housing poverty and depression. Based on these, the significance of this study and implications for youth housing policies were derived.
